Unique old sleepers thermal treatment facility is ready for launch In Irkutsk region

New incinerator КТО-1000.Ш. of Safe Technologies production is capable to neutralize 1000 kilograms or 12 sleepers per hour. The equipment was manufactured by request of JSC Russian Railways and installed at Tagul station in Irkutsk region, where all old sleepers of Baikal area are accumulated.

Disposal of used railway sleepers is a serious environmental and economic challenge. Due to railway infrastructure modernization, the millions of old sleepers saturated by toxic substances are subject to be disposed. Such kind of waste causes a danger to the environment and human health and cannot be landfill.
