Russian Railways opened the Center of Environmental Education in Yaroslavl

Director General of Safe Technologies Konstantine Ladigin, governor of the Yaroslavl region Sergey Yastrebov and Senior Vice-President of Russian Railways Valentin Gapanovich attended the opening of the Center for Environmental Education, the branch of JSCo Russian Railways.

The event was organized as part of the corporate meeting of Russian Railways in Yaroslavl, attended by engineers and environmentalists of all branches of the company and dedicated to the improvement of environmental management.

‘The new center is another indication of how much attention Russian Railways paid to environmental issues. The opening of the center of environmental education is a good example of showing the respect for the nature of the country where we live’, said Sergey Yastrebov. ‘Yaroslavl Region has traditionally good relations with the Railroads, we understand each other and are always solve together the challenges we face’.

The Governor noted that the cooperation with Russian Railways is very important for the region: it is an investment in the economy and the introduction of new technologies that meet the latest environmental standards.

The new training center of JSCo Russian Railways is the only one in the country. Engineers, environmental specialists, laboratory staff from all over Russia will be able to study there. Hotel rooms, conference rooms, training rooms and bars are arrange in campus area. The building was constructed with the employment of energy-saving technologies: the walls are made of heat-trapping materials, motion sensors that regulate lighting on and off and the water supply valves. Lights, illuminating the area around the educational center, run on solar batteries.

Safe Technologies conducted a comprehensive modernization of waste thermal treatment facilities to equip the production site of the Center of Environmental Education. The existing production line is fully automated, and the new facility, KTO-500, will increase the production capacity by three times. In addition, the updated plant is designed for disposal of all types of solid and liquid wastes, including medical, fuel, oily and paint that meets the presented the project requirements of JSC Russian Railways.
